Apple Cider Vinegar is a great ingredient to have in the house for many things and sore throat is one of them. Simply mix 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with an 8 ounce glass of water and drink. If you would like to make the drink a little sweeter you can also add 1 Tablespoon of honey. Will instantly help to soothe your throat.

* Old Fashioned Warm Milk Home Remedy

Another great throat soother is this warm milk home remedy. There are many who claim this is a miracle worker. You will need the following ingredients:

1 Cup Milk
1 Tbsp. Honey
1. Tbsp. Butter
Sprinkle Sugar

Heat up the milk with one tablespoon of butter and one tablespoon of honey added. (You may even add a small sprinkle of sugar if you would like to sweeten it a little further.) Drink it down while it is still hot but be careful not to burn your mouth or tongue. This great home remedy will help coat your throat making it feel better, and the warmth from the milk was also help any swelling go down.

* Gargle with Warm Saltwater

This is another popular home remedy for a sore throat that comes highly recommended by many doctors. Simply dissolve a ½ teaspoon of salt with a ½ cup of warm water. Mix together well and then gargle with it. Repeating this 3 or 4 times a day will not only help reduce inflammation but will also help cut phlegm associated with a cold. Be sure not to swallow too much of the mixture however because of its high sodium content. This should be used for gargling only.

* Gargle With Listerine

Another great gargling solution is Listerine. Simply gargle with Listerine mouthwash 2 or 3 times a day. If your sore throat is associated with a cold or illness however be sure to use a clean cup that you do not share with anyone else in the household.

* Make a Lemon Juice Mixture

Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice along with 1 tablespoon of honey in a glass of warm water and sip.

* Drink a Lime Juice Mixture

If you actually prefer lime to lemons, you can mix one tablespoon of lime juice and 1 tablespoon of honey to warm water and sip.

* Drink Soothing Hot Fluid

Drinking warm liquids can also work wonders in soothing a sore throat. Tea with lemon and honey or even hot lemonade can work like a hot pack on your sore throat.

* Drink More Water

Keeping your throat well lubricated can also help to relieve the soreness. Drinking at least 6 to 8 glasses of water a day will not only help relieve the scratchiness, dryness and soreness of a sore throat but can also help to flush out your system of any infection you might have quicker.
